Perfect your pitch
Pitching is a core sales capability that every producer needs to master. Too many don’t appreciate what a difference a strong pitch can make to all their sales material and conversations about their products.
A compelling pitch is particularly important face-to-face in a distributor presentation or at a tradeshow.
We have been reviewing producer pitches in workshops for years with a traditional process of:
pitch training ➡ pitch preparation ➡ practice pitch
Participants generally develop good pitches but only after several practice and feedback rounds.
When we introduced an AI coach into the process, it became:
pitch training ➡ pitch preparation ➡ AI coach ➡ practice pitch
The quality of pitches and speed to develop them by participants went through the roof.
The AI was a great first-cut pitch coach. It could review and strengthen an initial draft before participants presented to the group. This meant we spent workshop time polishing already-solid pitches rather than making major corrections in front of everyone.
The result was a faster and far more rewarding experience.
The pitch review tool should be used with every brand launch, in preparation for every presentation, and before every trade show. You cannot be prepared enough for those moments when you have to get to the crux of it quickly.
The tool is straightforward and follows the following structure:
Asks for your product, customer, customer need, range statements, and unique selling/value proposition.
Presents a pitch to you in the form of “we help X achieve Y by doing Z and we are special because…”.
Scores your pitch out of 20 against our scoring framework with feedback on why it received the score.
Provides a model example for a pitch that would have scored at least 16/20.
The best products deserve the best pitches.
